ZHAORAN MENG

Zhaoran Meng 's work explores theme such as consciousness of human, time and space, thoughts and peripheral experiences by using video and installations. Her practice is rooted in a sense of movement and indeterminacy. Most of her inspiration is influenced by the philosopher Jean Baudrillard's theory of simulacra, and questions the authenticity of the world in our consciousness. Exploring the real world has become her doing things. In her early work, she focused more on the unreality of society, such as the virtual online world. Recent works began to embark from the human self, revealing the unreality of the subjective (imaginary) world.

She constantly discusses the relationship between the imaginary world and the real world. The imaginary world includes our dreams, imagination, and impressions of things, but the real world is an objective existence. She visualizes this abstract consciousness and presents it to us in a rational way.
