SEN KEI MO

SenKei was born in China and has been in the UK since young, where she found her love for contemporary art. She is sensitive to colours and compositions, her work shows curiosity about self-exploration and consciousness, also the state of human nature. By expressing herself through Contemporary Abstraction, She searches a way to appropriately express the nature with balance between internal and external, one’s self in relation to the world.
She states that with abstraction each individual’s perspective differentiates allowing them to have different experiences from one single piece of art; different or in correspondence, She believes the point is in creating and sharing, building a bridge between one’s thoughts and the audience. Her work can be straight-forward and bold, yet sensory and sensual at the same time. It can tell a clear story or it can be a big explosion of emotions and colours on one canvas. The majority of her inspirations come from the idea of human nature through the aspect of daily life; peoples’ thoughts, emotions, feelings. Life itself is the greatest source to her inspiration. She tend to enhance brush work and her sensitivity to colours, most of her work can be identified with a preference to use certain media such as acrylic paint.
She never believed in oppositions, good or bad, body or soul, self or others- she sees the world as one. By being conscious of herself and others it opened her mind, as she states more like a spiritual shock- there is unity, realism, and true beauty in the nature of everything, she then becomes the canvas or instrument, the freedom and creativity is infinite.
